What is Parkinson's Disease?
A Neurological Shift
Parkinson’s is a progressive nervous system disorder that gradually impairs brain-to-body communication and movement control. Many of these debilitating symptoms are driven by the death of critical neurons within a brain region called the substantia nigra. As these vital cells die, the brain loses its ability to produce dopamine—a crucial chemical messenger—while toxic protein clumps simultaneously accumulate and cause further cellular damage.
A Failing System
Current Parkinson’s disease treatments are inefficient because they only temporarily mask motor symptoms rather than stopping the underlying brain cell death. Over time, as more dopamine-producing neurons die, the brain loses its natural ability to absorb and process these medications effectively. This decline forces patients to take higher doses, which frequently triggers severe involuntary movements and unpredictable "off" periods where symptoms suddenly return.
About Me
"I founded ANGEL Therapeutics as a high school student after independently developing the FERRO-DOPA concept. Since then, I have been collaborating with Stanford researchers to refine and validate the technology. To protect the underlying invention, a provisional patent application has already been filed."
I developed the FERRO-DOPA concept because current therapeutic approaches leave massive gaps in patient care. Neurological treatments should not just manage symptoms; they need to target the underlying mechanisms safely and effectively. My goal with ANGEL Therapeutics is to bridge the gap between theoretical neuroscience and actionable patient solutions. By collaborating with leading researchers at Stanford, I am focused on turning this concept into a validated reality that can fundamentally improve lives
